Our laser tattoo removal treatments use advanced ND:YAG laser technology to safely and effectively fade unwanted tattoos. By using two specialised wavelengths — 1064nm and 532nm — we can treat a wide range of ink colours. The 1064nm wavelength is best suited for darker colours such as black and dark blue, while the 532nm wavelength targets brighter shades including red, orange, brown and some yellows. The laser energy breaks the tattoo ink into tiny particles, which your body then gradually clears away naturally.
Each treatment is carefully tailored to your skin type, tattoo, and individual goals to ensure the best possible results in a safe and professional setting.

- Effectively treats black, blue, red, and other common tattoo colours
- Uses advanced ND:YAG Q-Switched laser technology, recognised as the gold standard for tattoo removal
- Delivers treatment in very short, high-energy pulses, allowing ink to be broken down efficiently
- Targets tattoo pigment precisely while protecting the surrounding skin
- Lower risk of scarring when treatments and aftercare guidelines are followed
- Suitable for a wide range of skin types and tattoo styles
- Safe, controlled, and carried out in a clean, professional clinical environment
We use an advanced ND:YAG laser to deliver short pulses of energy into the tattoo. This process is called ‘Selective photothermolysis’, where light energy is transferred to heat energy in the skin. This energy breaks the ink into tiny particles, which your body’s immune system then gradually removes over time
By using two wavelengths — 1064nm and 532nm — we can treat a wide range of tattoo colours. Darker inks such as black and dark blue respond best to 1064nm, while brighter colours like red, orange, and some yellows are treated using 532nm. Some colours may fade more easily than others. Laser can struggle with light colors, pastels, and neon shades like pale blue, turquoise, pink, yellow, and white, which tend to reflect the laser energy rather than absorb it.
Yes, when performed by a trained professional, ND:YAG laser tattoo removal is considered very safe. Every treatment is tailored to your skin type and tattoo, and a consultation is carried out to ensure suitability.
Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a hot elastic band snapping against the skin. Discomfort is usually brief and manageable, and cooling methods are used to help keep you comfortable during treatment.
The number of sessions varies depending on factors such as the tattoo’s size, age, colour, depth, and your skin type. Most tattoos require multiple sessions, spaced several weeks apart, to allow the body time to clear the ink safely.
Treatment time depends on the size of the tattoo, but most sessions take between 5 and 30 minutes.
Many tattoos can be significantly faded or fully removed, but results vary. Some colours and inks respond better than others, and in some cases light “ghosting” or faint shadowing may remain. It can also depend how deep the pigment/ ink has been implanted into the skin.
There is little to no downtime. You may experience redness, swelling, or a warm sensation immediately after treatment, which usually settles within a few hours to a few days.
When carried out correctly and with proper aftercare, the risk of scarring is very low. Following all pre- and post-treatment advice is essential to protect the skin and achieve the best results.
Sessions are typically spaced 6–8 weeks apart, allowing the skin to heal fully and the body time to clear the ink particles.
The 1064nm wavelength is particularly suitable for a wide range of skin tones. During your consultation, we will assess your skin type and tattoo to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
You will be given full aftercare instructions, which may include keeping the area clean, avoiding sun exposure, and not picking or scratching the skin while it heals.
Yes. A consultation is required before treatment to assess your tattoo, discuss expectations, review your medical history, and carry out a patch test if needed.
Q-Switched ND:YAG lasers produce extremely short pulses of high-intensity energy, measured in nanoseconds. This creates a powerful photo-acoustic (mechanical) effect, which shatters tattoo ink into microscopic particles rather than heating the skin. These tiny particles are then naturally cleared by the body over time. This level of precision and power is what makes ND:YAG Q-Switched lasers more effective than many other laser systems for tattoo removal.
